eopenmarket Lucky Box Haul and Review (June 2015)

Just a quick review for the eopenmarket Lucky Box. It is now back in stock.

I ordered two to test my luck. During the month of June, all new members received a $3 coupon that could be redeemed with purchases over $10. Shipping is free (in other words, it's already calculated into the price of the products).

My order:
Lucky Box x 2 = $ 8.80 USD x 2
                           - $3 coupon

= $14.60USD
This was equivalent to around $19AUD at the time.

Ordered: 28/6/15
Shipped: 29/6/15
Received: 9/7/15 (eight business days)

My makeup collection (featuring lots of Dolly Wink and Etude House)

My cousins who live in Hong Kong and my friend who has moved to Indonesia wanted to see my makeup collection. So here is my current collection that I photographed last night (no... I'm not procrastinating >_>). I will name my favourite from each category:

Lucas' Papaw Ointment Review

If you ever come to Australia and buy one thing... this should be it! Lucas' famous Papaw Ointment.

I've been using it for years and have gone through countless tubes (okay, maybe countless was a bit of an exaggeration). Seven big 25g tubes and one of the small 15g tube. I love more than the Nivea lipbalms (and I've gone through quite a few of them), I love more than Blistex (though Blistex Lip Conditioner is pretty good), and of course, I love it more than the traditional Chapstick.

I spotted this at Watson's in Hong Kong for at least double, if not triple the price. Luckily, my mum purchased quite a few tubes to give to our relatives as souvenirs.

Contains: Carica papaya 39mg/g fresh fermented fruit. (On the back) Potassium Sorbate 0.1 mg/g as preservative. Store below 30°C.

Description: A local topical application for boils, burns, chafing, cuts, cracked skin, gravel rash, splinters, open wounds, insect bites and nappy rash.

Size: Available in 15g (tube with applicator), 25g (traditional tube), 75g (tub size), 200g (tub size).

Price: RRP for the 25g tube is $5.99AUD.

Innisfreeworld Haul and Review aka ALL THE MASKS FROM INNISFREE + current mask collection

I am becoming a sheet mask addict. No, really. I have purchased over 200 masks this year. My current collection is a little embarrassing. There's so much I can't even fit them all into my fridge anymore. They live in two boxes on my bedroom floor. This is a super expensive habit, but I'm not about to break it because sheet masks just feel so good, and I can get immediate effects. My skin hasn't been flakey since I've been faithful to these masks.

What triggered this massive haul? A 10 + 10 sheet mask deal on Innisfree World. They have had this deal a few times before, but on 1st of May, I finally caved in and used up my new membership benefit (which was free shipping). I signed myself up to the website in March to get the free Green Tea Kit which I have also included in my overall collective mask haul photo.

I won't go on and on about the crappy Australian Dollar exchange rate again, but I thought this deal was better than the one in April. I was able to qualify for some freebies whilst only spending $60 USD (which was around $79AUD). Each mask came out at around 80c AUD which is a fantastic deal. Asking my dad to buy me a box of My Beauty Diary from Sasa in Hong Kong is around the same price, but he doesn't have to pack it in his luggage, and I can buy as many as a I want.

I ordered 100 masks... I got at least five of each of the 16 varieties, and seven of the ones which appealed to me the most (mainly the fruit varieties and the lotiony type ones).

Ordered: 1/5/15 (Friday night)
Shipped: 5/5/15 (Tuesday)
Received: 11/5/15 (The following Monday)

It was annoying because no one could help me sign for the package and pick it up-- I thought it was such a waste of EMS because I pretty much ended up waiting for 2 weeks to get it anyway. My mum was a champ and picked it up for me on Thursday when she went to get her car from smash repairs. Thank you mum! Otherwise I would have had to pick it up on Saturday, or the post office would have returned it to the sender.

An official Innisfree box.

RoseRoseShop Haul and Review #2

Wow, so many haul posts and so little review and drawing posts. It looks like all I ever do is spend, spend, spend (but it's not, I promise)! I like reading haul posts the most so it makes sense that I enjoy writing them because they make me reflect on the things I have. I feel a sense of contentment when I actually use up everything I purchased.

My Mizon 8% AHA Peeling Serum ran out right before I went overseas in January. I really enjoyed using it, and I'm glad RoseRoseShop still had their free shipping for Mizon promotion going on!

The customer service at RRS is so nice. This is only the second time I've purchased from them, but they responded to messages very quickly and professionally. I do know that customer service can be very hit or miss, but I was satisfied with the customer service I received this time.

Ordered: 16/3/15
Shipped: 18/3/15
Received: 8/4/15
TOTAL = 15 business days

Here is what I ordered:

Massive haul from Singapore, Taiwan, and Hong Kong (Etude House, Skinfood, Hada Labo, Nature Republic, 3CE, CLIO, My Scheming, My Beauty Diary, FaceQ, Naruko)

The Australian dollar is terrible at the moment, but I still managed to shop happily on an overseas trip. I truly think I would have been less restrained if the dollar had been better. Here are the things I purchased!

Skincare and haircare part of my haul! Most of this came from Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Nature Republic: Hand & Nature (aka Nature Republic EXO's Hand Cream) Review/Chanyeol's Pick in Avocado

I love, love, love the Wild Cherry scent of this Nature Republic handcream! Unfortunately, I discovered it was discontinued late last year, and I was devastated because I love cherry flavoured things. Cherry Blossom just isn't the same.

Imagine my surprise when there was tubes of this stuff available in the Nature Republic Store in Mong Kok, Hong Kong during my February trip! I grabbed two more of the Wild Cherry (Luhan), one of the Avocado (Chanyeol), and one of the Grapefruit (Sehun). I purposely grabbed it in the old packaging because it reminds me of the 2013 campaign. Although I love the Apple Mango scent (Baekhyun) it is available in the new packaging so I didn't grab another. Although I stated I was going to buy the Raspberry (D.O) one, the scent just didn't appeal to me so I gave it a pass. I think that one has also been discontinued.

The first four on the left are new; the last two are old and have since been finished.

Sample review: The Face Shop Baby Leaf Green Tea Waterfull Serum

Is anyone else attracted to green tea as an ingredient in their skincare? Green tea in a serum is a double whammy; I love green tea and I love serums. I was really happy to try out a few packets of The Face Shop's Baby Leaf Green Tea Waterfull Serum.

What They Say: A serum containing young Green Tea Leaf extracts fully moisturises skin.

- Moisture complex (Xanthan gum + Betain + Gylcerin)

- Panthenol (anti-inflammatory, moisturizing)

- 3,000mg of organically grown Boseong green tea extract

- "5 free" system (artificial coloring, benzophenone, minerals,

 animal derived materials, alcohol)

How To Use: I could not locate any official instructions, but as a rule of thumb, serums are patted onto the skin after using a toner.

Contents: 1ml/ 0.03 fl. oz. I used around eight packets (four days worth).

Etude House Look At My Eyes Cafe PK003 Berry Berry Soda

Is anyone else in love with the burgundy trend? Although 2015 is the year of marsala, I still think burgundy and dark pinks are oh so beautiful if done correctly!

I purchased this Etude House shadow in a physical store in Sydney. The store is a bit shady and have tried to rip me off at the counter several times so I won't be naming the store and I have decided to buying things from them.

This is the colour I picked up. It is in PK003 (Berry Berry Soda) from Etude House's Look at My Eyes Cafe Collection. How pretty is the colour and the cute heart imprint?

Rose Rose Shop Haul and Review #1

I'm sure most of you have heard of Rose Rose Shop (RRS). It took me over year to finally convince myself to buy something from them because of their higher shipping costs. Even though their product prices are often lower than other stores, the cost of shipping really detracts from their attractive prices.

Anyhow, RRS had and currently still have a free shipping option for all Mizon items. You just have to pay $2.50 USD for a tracking number. I had previously tried a tube of the Mizon Blemish Mark-X and really liked it and saw that it was going for a very good price at RRS. I also really wanted to try the 8% AHA Peeling Serum, and off to RRS I went.

Paid: 09/12/2014
Payment Received: 09/22/2014
Shipped: 09/26/2014
Received: 7/10/2014

It took around two weeks (10 working days) for my package to be shipped from payment, and a month to get my package from the day I paid. I emailed RRS one working week after I had placed my order to ask if they have received the payment. They were very polite in responding and said that they will give me extra samples for taking so long to process my payment... they didn't.

No fear if you live in a country that requires custom fees on packages... RRS marks your package to be $5.

Sample Review: The Face Shop Herb Day 365 Cleansing Foam Acerola

Back to some mini reviews to relieve stress from thesis writing and other projects. Today I'm going through lots of my old drafts and fixing them up so they are ready to post.

What They Say: For all skin types, produces whitening effects. A mild, natural cleanser, effective in cleansing and brightening (contains fruit acid and rich Acerola extracts with nine other herbs).

How To Use: Get adequate amount for form. Gently place it all over the face and rinse it off with clean water.

Contents: 1ml/ 0.03 fl. oz. I used around three packets.

Can you see the ingredients?
My Thoughts...

This cleanser has a mild, fruity scent. It did not foam up that well without a foaming net. I did not particularly like this as it felt quite drying on my skin, but please keep in mind, I have dry skin so this might fare better for other skin types. According to Testerkorea, this foam retails for 3300 won/ 200ml. From memory, it is around $12-15 at The Face Shop in Australia... that is a steep markup.

TL;DR: Wouldn't buy this as it is drying.

Quick Review: Formula 10.0.6 Overnight Success review

I purchased this packet of I'm still trying to obtain my flawless skin, but it's been getting worse lately due to stress and product changing. I jumped for joy when Priceline had their 40% off all skincare promotion (back in August 2013 whoops). I always really wanted to try more acne patches after seeing online reviews.

What They Say: Fast-acting cleansing patches work their magic while you sleep to visibly improve blemishes before the morning. Packed with tea tree extract and soothing grape seed, Overnight success are the mighty minis that soothe problem skin for a flawless finish. Get your sleep! Doctors recommend at least eight hours of sleep per night, for your brain and your beauty, your skin will notice the difference. (Courtesy of Priceline)

A picture of me holding a picture of me...

Hi! I just got back from my month long holiday to Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. I purchased SO many things from Taiwan... it was so cheap. I think I spent at least $700 AUD on makeup and skincare whoops. I will post some pictures soon. Besides the shopping, I believe I ate very well. Everything was delicious so anything I eat at home now seems very bland:(

I went to visit my good friend in Singapore. I was really sick back then because I caught a cold from flying to a place in Summer, to a place in Winter, back to a place in Summer in two days. It was very extreme.

He drew me a picture of me, which I thought was very clever and very sweet. He requested I post a 'selfie' of me with it. My phone is so outdated it does not have a front facing camera so I used my laptop's webcam.

We're wearing the same shirt! The bright lighting washed out my makeup... you can't even see my lashes >< This painting now resides on the shelf next to me so I can periodically look at it and smile when I study. It reminds me of my favourite things and of course, one of my closest friends!

Wearing my Alice dress...

I decided to do a little wardrobe test to see what I'd look like wearing the dress I made from the previous post.

I hate taking photos of myself on my cameraaaaa OTL. Not only is it hard without a tripod, I don't have a flip screen to see what I look like. Unfortunately, I also dislike doing photoshoots with photographers because I feel too self conscious. Guess it's back self-timer for me >_>

Urm, lots of weird mistakes with the photo (yes, there is a window on my left where the light hits). At least Rilakkuma is in focus! You also get a general idea of what the dress looks like when it is worn.

And, a selca of my makeup face!

???
Here is a list of the makeup I am sporting on my face--

Alice-In-Wonderland JSK (Front-to-Back with Bustle)

I discovered Yumi King through Youtube last week. Her tutorials looked so easy and fun that I decided to make a dress.

I specifically purchased fabric colours which reminded me of Alice. Altogether, the materials used to make this dress only cost $8.75, and took me approximately 13 hours to make.

This is the dress design I decided to use--> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBzEWj_ltZc

I'm so proud of my non-existent sewing skills... I made the frills a bit differently, but I still think it looks okay for a n00b like me. I did however, sew the frills on the wrong way around at the bust, so they get folded down where my armpits are orz.

I think I'll make another dress from her tutorials soon:)

Wriggle Nightbug

I don't know why, but I get drawing feels late at night. First drawing since Feb 2014.
